May 20, 2006.
The original plan was to ride with these 5 other bikes up to South Carolina and northeast Georgia to eat and then see 3 different waterfalls. But on the way to meet them at 8:00 this morning - we ran into some sprinkles and the forecast for the area we were headed to was 60% chance of rain. So I wimped out. Fortunetly, Dennis wimped out too so the 3 of us decided to just head northwest for "awhile". 7 hours (and 190 miles) later we got home. We ended up going to almost Dalton, Georgia which is up by Chattanooga.
Saw a wild turkey today and a group of buffalo next to a sign that said ''buffalo for sale''. You just never know what you are going to see.

The 6 bikes before we wimped out.

See ya. Ride safe.

About an hour later - taking a break. What a view!

Same place.

You can't really see what a drop off this was. Those are
huge power poles at the bottom of this cliff. Kudzu has taken over.

Another break. Bart's bait and grocery.

This is the National Park at Carters Lake. We told the
gate house that we wanted to look for eagles and they didn't charge us an
entrance fee. This lake is formed by a dam that you will see coming up.

This is where we watched eagles circling at the top.

We stopped on the dam and took this. This is looking
left....

And this is looking right. So you get an idea of how
deep the lake is in the last picture.

Lunch time at Edna's in Chatsworth.

Break time again in the Ft. Mountain area.

Dennis said in his younger days there was no guard rails here.

Same place looking to where we are headed.

Looking at the twisty that got us here.
One more break at a gas station, and then home.
