May 26, 2008.  Memorial Day.  A 164 mile trip up to Ellijay, Jasper, and Ft. Mountain with Steve and Lori.

Hazy on the way up Ft. Mountain but you see for miles.

Same view but with the bikes.

The square in Ellijay

Lots of building from around 1880.

An old wood beam bridge in Jasper.

And on the other side - The Woodbridge Inn.

The city jail from 1880.  You can see the bars on the windows on the second floor.  It even has a gallow that was never used for an execution.  They offer tours but we will do that some other day.

I didn't take a picture of the plaque but this is a marker celebrating the founder of Georgia.

The Dairy Queen in Jasper.

Eating our ice cream in the shade.
