June 19-21, 2009.  A bunch of Goldwings from all over decided to meet in Bryson City, NC.  Janis and I rode up with Steve and Lori on Friday and came back Sunday.  It was unbelievably HOT.  Almost 100 every day.

Stopping for a break and to cool off.

Janis and me heading out.

Another break at NOC.

We checked into our hotel and went into Bryson City in search of food.  We found a great Italian place.

When you looked thru the window you could almost see the ghosts of past customers sitting in the old chairs.

View from the hotel room as Goldwings start to arrive for the weekend.

The beginning of the parking lot party Friday night.

Two other couples from Alabama went with us for our Saturday ride.  They knew of Steve's ability to find nice roads and places to eat.  Here we are taking a break in a church parking lot in the middle of nowhere.

Hot Springs, NC for lunch.  The Sheriff's office on the corner looked kind of like the one in Mayberry.

Looking toward where we are headed.

Looking back from where we have just come.

Then on to Asheville, NC for a couple hours of shopping.

Then on to The Blue Ridge Parkway thru the Smokey Mountains, one of the nicest rides in the U.S.

Coming up on one of many tunnels.

Here comes another one.

Looking back toward the two bikes following us as we come out of one of the tunnels.

Another rear view over the top of Janis's helmet.

Lori took this looking back at Janis and me.

A big thunderstorm woke us up Sunday morning. We waited until it stopped raining and headed home.

Lunch in Blairsville.  Then one more stop and we were home.  A total of 572 miles of mountain roads in 3 days.
