September 17, 2006.  Today was 258 miles thru 3 states:  GA, NC, & TN.  Our original plan was to ride with Steve and Lori up to Lake Ocoee in Tennessee but then I found out that Wayne and Vicki were picking up their bike in Murphy NC.  It has been parked at a friends (Larry and Rhonda) parents house for a couple weeks since Wayne had a little mishap and broke a couple toes. So we altered our plans a bit so we could meet them in Murphy at noon and have him ride back home with us while Vicki drove the car home later in the day.

We had breakfast at Ryan's in Canton at 8:00.  Steve and Lori's friend Kent joined us there on his bike.  Another wing chapter was having their monthly meeting there so we sat in the separate room with them to eat.  Then we headed out before their meeting started.

Stomach and gas tanks full... ready to hit the road.  Was a nice 59 degrees.

About an hour later stopping for a break.  A local cop pulled in and got out of his car and told us that riding was not allowed on Sunday in their town.  He said ''If I have to work - then you can't ride!"  We all laughed and told him to call in sick and go with us.

Sure are a lot of dams in Georgia.  This one is up by Blue Ridge.

Some guy fly fishing.

Another dam road.  No dam restaurants on this dam road.  Just like the other dam road we were on last month.

Here is Lori demonstrating how to eat a greasy fried onion ring with your hands. And she did it without a bib!  That takes guts.

Motorcycle parking on the side of the building.  I am pretty sure the sign said you had to park the best looking bike at the front.  But I could be wrong.

Murphy, NC.  Good thing we got there early.  It was packed when we came out.

Larry and Rhonda's parents farm in Turtle Town, Tennessee.  Turtle Town is right up the road from Duck Town.  What great people and what a great place.

Taking the tour of Herman and Sue's farm.

Herman and one of his projects.  1931 Ford Model A (I think) It purred like a kitten.  The garage going up in the background is to be used for restoring cars.

Machine shop area and storage for cars and tractors.  The guys checked this area out while the girls walked down to the pond.

41 Ford (I think) completely restored.  This is the 'business man' model.  No back seat.  Just a place to put your stuff.

A farm must have a tractor.  Two tractors are even better.

A like new 1960 Ford Galaxy convertible with a 390 engine.

Break time.

Another break at Dale's in Suches.

Then one more stop in Dawsonville and home at 5:30.
