October 7. 2007.  Once again Steve and Lori pull another fun trip out of their hats.  Today was a 202 mile journey up to Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA.  This Barnsley guy came to the United States from England in the 1800's at the age of 18 with $4 in his pocket.  He got a job in a cotton plant and by age 28 was in charge of it and was a multi millionaire.  Here is some more history -  http://roadsidegeorgia.com/site/barnsley.html

All loaded up and ready to go.  We went to Steve and Lori's house first and got to see their son Tyler who just got home last week after spending 5 1/2 months walking the entire Appalachian Trail.  Over 2000 miles!

Lunch at one of our favorite places - Frankie's in Rockmart.

The front of Barnsley Manor

The back and also the other house that was built next to it.  The next group of pictures are of the second house.

This keeps people from stepping on the blood stain on the floor from when one of the Barnsley boys shot and killed his brother.  They have attempted to clean it, but the stain keeps coming back so they gave up on trying to make it go away.

The stove he invented.  Multiple cabinets and also heats the water for the house.

The family cemetery

The gardens.  They all took off and I got lost in the maze.  I yelled and yelled for help but no one came.  Finally I was able to find my way out.
