December 1, 2007.  Last weekend Janis and I went for a ride to find the Little River Sports Bar & Grill on Lake Allatoona which is about 45 minutes west of here.  We also wanted to see the lake.  "Somebody" forgot the camera last weekend so we wanted to go back to get some pictures to show everyone how bad the draught has affected the lakes around us. Everyone has heard of Lake Lanier being low, but this lake is suffering too.

You can read more about the lake here:   http://allatoona.sam.usace.army.mil/

Steve and Lori said they wanted to see it too, so we rode over to their house and headed out.

It was about 52 when we left the house and about 62 when we got home about 4:00.   A short 135 mile day but fun and interesting.

Steve has us captivated with one of his stories.

The marina across the street from the restaurant.

Looking left.  Those are houseboats that are grounded.

Looking right.  That is a boat ramp over to the right.

This is behind the restaurant.  Those are gas pumps down there on the dock.

Looking to the right.

We rode around the lake.  Here we are at Red Top Mountain State Park.  You can see the dock resting on the ground in the middle of the picture.
