OUR 2005 HONDA GOLDWING

The 800 pound beast with a 6 cylinder engine.  It gets around 40 MPG !  (less if you make it go fast).  Here are a few pictures and some of the stuff that is on the bike.  There are a million other adjustment buttons and it took me a while to figure everything out.  I actually had to read the instruction manual!

This is with the trunk and both saddlebags open.  Not exactly room for golf clubs.

The remote locks/unlocks the trunk and saddlebags.  The other button makes the trunk pop open. The red button makes the horn honk and the lights flash so you can tell which bike is yours in a big group of parked Goldwings. :)

Here you can see the radio and the CB are on and the little headset icon next to the 'tune' and 'CB' means they will come out the speakers in your helmet instead of the speakers on the dash.  Also the odometer and trip meter.  Only 4500 miles on it so far.  The red 'S' next to the gas gauge means the stand is down.

This is showing the outside air temperature.

This is what the suspension is set on.  Goes from zero to 25.  (25 being stiffest)

Left handle controls.  Lots for your thumb to do. CB volume, channel, and squelch.  Headlight high beam switch. Radio volume. Turn signals.  Radio channel tuner. Turn signals. Horn button.  Mute button for radio.  The goal is to hit the turn signal when you want to turn instead of the horn button.  (I am getting better each time at this)

At the bottom is the headlight adjustment which makes the headlights tilt down.  Then the 4-way flashers botton and the suspension up and down button.  The memo 1 and 2 are for storing 2 different suspension settings, for example 1 for single rider and 2 for when you have a passenger.

And of course the clutch handle is behind the grip.

The right handle.  The knob with the red dot is the emergency cut-off switch. Then below that is the Cruise control on and off button and the resume/accelerate button. Then under that is the set/coast button.  RVS is reverse!  Once it is in reverse you use the starter button to engage reverse and back it up.  It works great for backing this thing out of a parking spot without getting a hernia.  Then of course is the 'twist to go fast' grip.

These are the buttons for activating the radio, and CB, and intercom.  And also for switching from dash speakers to headset speakers.  You use the 'A-SEL' when you are on a trip and it will automatically program 12 FM stations as you travel thru new areas.  Then when you get back home you turn the A-SEL off and your original 12 stations are still there.  WB is weather band.  I don't have the CD option.  There is an audio cord in one of the glove compartments where you can plug in a I-Pod or Walkman and then hit 'AUX' and it will come out the speakers or helmet.

This optional bracket allows you to adjust the passengers footrest height.

These are our helmets.  You can't see the speakers that are inside but you can see the microphone to use with either the intercom (to talk to your passenger) or CB for talking to other bikes.
