January 1, 2006.  Our trip to Amicalola Falls.  Our Gainesville Wing Chapter met up with the Winder Chapter for a great breakfast buffet at the Amicalola Lodge.  There was a total of 18 bikes. It was 35 degrees when we started out this morning at 9:00 and got up to 60 by the afternoon.

Here is the first half of our Chapter.  Sherrel and his wife Kay, Janis, and Bill and Mirtes.

We went up the road about 10 miles and met up with some more from our Chapter.  Then 11 bikes from the Winder Chapter met us there and off we went.

Here is our Chapter parked at the lodge.

Everyone chowing down.

Outside the lodge looking down.  We were at 2,200 feet.

The front of the lodge.

Posing with the bears.. Kay, Bonnie, Janis, and Mirtes and some unknown girl that wanted to pose in the picture.  At Mirtes's suggestion we kept the girl and the ransom money helped pay for food and gas.

Here is Bill after the lodge declared bankruptcy from his wiping out the buffet.

We stopped at this gas station/general store.  We were in the middle of nowhere on a road that wasn't even on Steven's GPS   It ended suddenly and became a dirt road so we turned around.  Steven did like the fact that we went thru a place called Boner Gap.  It was up the road from Booger Holler.  He parked over there so we wouldn't have to smell his bike.

Behind the gas station was a cemetary that had tombstones that went back to the 1800's.  It was hard to read some of them since they were over 200 years old. People sure didn't live long back then.  Bill thinks that would be a good excuse for guys back then to have a lot of sex.

This is the gas station near Two Wheels Only in Suches.  Lots of people squeezing in a ride on maybe the last good weekend for weather.

Only 160 miles today but what a fun day.
